STANDARD 10 Service Recipient Training and Support This policy formally recognises that the employment opportunities of each person with a disability are optimised by effective and relevant training and support provided either by DVJS or an external service provider. Dandenong Valley Job Support Inc. will ensure that it provides or facilitates access to relevant training and support that are consistent with the employment goals and opportunities of each consumer via? Ø Provision of in-house Vocational Modules to consumers to assist them gain confidence and skills to enter/ return to mainstream employment & maintain it. Ø Participation in unpaid work experience in positions that consumers have expressed interest in, to ensure that the consumer has the functional capacity to undertake their chosen employment field. Ø Provision of onsite training at the workplace to ensure that the consumer learns the job correctly and is properly inducted. Ø Referring consumers to relevant training organisations such as TAFE for relevant skill based training to gain required qualifications and experience to enter their chosen employment field. Ø Provision of regular maintenance support to continue negotiations with the consumers employer for advancement such as new roles within the company or qualifications such as an apprenticeship or learning new skills.
